Anti-Achitophel (1682) is a collection of three verse replies by John Dryden, Elkanah Settle, and Samuel Pordage to the political satire poem «Absalom and Achitophel» by Dryden. The poems provide a counter-argument to Dryden's portrayal of Whig politician the Earl of Shaftesbury as a villain and instead present him as a heroic figure. The collection is a notable example of the political and literary debates of the Restoration era.
