The Elene of Cynewulf translated into English prose

This is one of very few old-English poems still in existence. Cynewulfe is thought to have lived in the

9th century and to have used the Anglian dialect. His poem is about Saint Helena (Elene) who was the mother of the Roman emperor Constantine. A truly important piece of English literature.
