Clara Hopgood

"Clara Hopgood" by William Hale White (also known by his pen-name Mark Rutherford) follows the title character Clara Hopgood as she comes of age and learns to navigate British society in the late 1800s. Though life as a woman isn't always easy, Clara shows fortitude in character that many male authors of the time were unable or unwilling to capture.
