'Mufti' is a romance-drama novel written by Sapper, the pseudonym used by Herman Cyril McNeile when he was still on active duty. It is set in World War I and follows an officer on leave from duty and the life he left behind in London, colored with the public's perspective on the war at the time, both known and unknown to him.
