An Unwilling Maid

"An Unwilling Maid: Being the History of Certain Episodes during the American Revolution in the Early Life of Mistress Betty Yorke, born Wolcott" by Jeanie Gould Lincoln is a story about a girl who lived during the American Revolutionary War. When her favorite sister almost dies, the man who saves her turns out to be a redcoat, the enemy. He gets captured, but she helps him escape out of gratitude for what he did for them. These two odd friends end up meeting again later in New York, while the British control the city, and are surprised to find how much affection they have for one another.
