Kyphosis and other Variations in Soft-shelled Turtles

The following pamphlet discusses a medical condition called kyphosis that occurs on soft-shelled turtles. Kyphosis is an abnormally excessive convex curvature of the spine as it occurs in the thoracic and sacral regions. It is often found on several species of soft-shelled turtles such as the Chinese soft-shell turtle (Pelodiscus sinensis) and the Texas spiny softshell turtle (Apalone spinifera emoryi).
