"The Only True Mother Goose Melodies" is a collection of poems and songs by a semi-fictitious personality nicknamed Mother Goose, known for immense love to her kids and grandchildren, who were both the first audience and performers of the works presented in this collection. According to the author of this book, an American author and historian, Edward Everett Hale, Mother Goose really lived in Boston, where many of her descendants could still be found at the beginning of the 1800s.
