"My Aunt Margaret's Mirror" is a short story by Sir Walter Scott, a prolific Scottish historical novelist, and poet whose novels «Ivanhoe» and «Quentin Durward» earned him world fame. The presented here story with a semi-biographical character refers us to the childhood years of Walter Scott. In the story, Scott tells about his aunt, an aging Jacobite from a family of diminished fortunes. Being the only nephew of aunt Margaret, Scott became the only trustee of the aunt's secret: a mysterious spiritual session during which she attempted to find her lost husband.
