Über das Buch

This fascinating book was written by a woman named Parthenia Antoinette Hague about her trials and tribulations during the American Civil War. The author and her family lived in southern Alabama, not far from the town of Eufaula, Alabama. The state seceded from the United States on January 11, 1861. Ultimately six companies of the Confederate States Army (CSA) were raised at Eufaula and Barbour County. Eufaula was the site of what may have been the last battle of the Civil War and by May 1865, it was reported that 10,000 Union troops had occupied Eufaula.
