The House of a Thousand Candles

'The House of a Thousand Candles' is a dramatic novel written by Meredith Nicholson. The story begins by introducing us to the protagonist, Jack Glenarm, who leads a carefree life, traveling the world and avoiding responsibilities. He receives news of his grandfather's death and returns to New York where an old acquaintance and rival, now serving as executor of his grandfather's will, informs him that the will stipulates he must live on and take care of his grandfather's estate in Indiana. This will be a challenge for Jack–who has a wanderer's soul ingrained deep in him.
