This is a mystery novel that tells the story of John Lethbridge, a young Englishman. He is a flower artist who found beauty and inspiration in nature. However, he is uninterested in sports, politics, or even love. His only relative, Old Jasper Payn had been a flower enthusiast and had taught Lethbridge all he knew about grooming flowers. Lethbridge left Old Jasper because he accused him of stealing his invention. A surprising turn of events occurs: Old Jasper accuses Lethbridge of theft again when he sees him. The thief who has been prowling Old Jasper's greenhouse is the same thief who has been prowling Lethbridge's greenhouse too. Who is the culprit?
