It detailed the political disputes between the various government and church appointees when Louis de Frontenac was the governor-general of the colony now called Quebec. In addition, the writer explained various conflicts in Canada, such as the competition over fur trading rights and the constant trouble with the local Indians, notably the Iroquois.
