In the Levant

This work contains exciting accounts of the author's journey to Egypt and the Levant. American essayist and novelist Charles Dudley Warne made this tour in the winter and spring of 1875. These notes were written before any signs of the Oriental disturbances in the middle east. Therefore, the observations made in this work are not influenced by any expectation of the state of affairs later.
