Diane of Ville Marie

'Diane of Ville Marie' is a romance novel written by Blanche Lucile Macdonnell. The story begins in August 1690, when the Seigniory of de Senneville was bustling with activity as Seignior Jacques Le Ber supervised the gathering of his harvests. Despite difficulties in the new colony and the threat of the Iroquois, Jacques had managed to accumulate wealth through the Western fur trade and his own business savvy. The settlers were protected by a group of soldiers as they worked, as the Iroquois were known to attack during sowing and harvest.
