Lucilla

in The Clouds .

Not once, but a thousand times her mother had urged the little girl not to get distracted when doing housework.

At school Lucilla was a very intelligent and diligent young girl, but at home she was terrible: she always had her head in the clouds.

When her mother put an important assignment in her hands, the young girl would always manage to get distracted and leave half of the task unfinished.

She was a bright-eyed girl, with beautiful curly hair down to her shoulders.

She was tall and slim for her age, and despite all the trouble that would cause, she would always bring joy in the household.

Lucilla and her family lived up on a hill in the woods; they were rich in happiness, yet poor in belongings.

However, that would not stop them from being generous human beings and from taking care of the old lady who lived on the opposite side of the hill.

Years before, when she was younger, the old lady had raised Lucilla’s mother, who was an orphan. She was like a grandmother to Lucilla.
